To start a Freeride session on iPhone or an Android phone, please open the WOO app. Then click on the My WOO screen, which is the middle button from the bottom bar. Continue to Go Kiting and hit Activate Beacon & Start WOO Session. Then click on the Phone checkmark and Start Your Session. You’re now all set to go out riding and record a Freeride session!

Tip: if you have the PRO subscription, you will be able to record Freeride+ and even Big Air Analytics+, giving you tons of more features and data insights!

Get more information by clicking HERE!

If you want to record a Freeride session with the Apple Watch, please download the WOO app on your Watch.

Once you have done that you need to set up the Apple Health Kit. To set up Apple Health Kit and allow the WOO app to access Heath Kit data, navigate to the MY WOO screen in the WOO Sports app on your iPhone, click on Upload Sessions and tap the red heart in the top right corner. When the slide-up prompt appears, allow the WOO Sports app to Connect with Health, and give all permissions in the next screen. That’s it, now you can exit the slide-up prompt by hitting the (x) on the top right, and you’re all set to go!

Now you can go to your Apple Watch, open the WOO app and click on “GPS.” This will start a Freeride session for you. Once you’re done with your session, please end and save the session on your Apple Watch. It will then automatically appear in your WOO app behind the “Upload Sessions” button.

If you need more help, click HERE!

First, you should double-check your device is compatible. You can find a full list by clicking HERE.

To start a Freeride session with your Garmin, you need to authorize and connect your Garmin Connect IQ account to your WOO Account. This allows us to synch GPS data from the Garmin servers to the WOO servers. You will need your Garmin Connect IQ login information to complete this step.

On the my WOO screen, click Upload Sessions -> Garmin -> Get Started

Enter your Garmin Connect IQ login information and hit Save -> Save -> Agree

Your account is now connected. If you have logged sessions already, they will be visible under Sessions From Garmin. You can always check the status of the Garmin connection by clicking on the Garmin logo once again. If everything went right, it will show a blue hook next to Connect with Garmin.

Now you just need to download and use one of the WOO apps for your Garmin device and your sessions will automatically go to your WOO account after recording/connecting to your phone.

You can find out which one and read the full instructions HERE.

Yes, this year you will need to register your team to compete.

Team Registration is OPEN NOW. You can find it [HERE].

There is no limit to team size. You can have as many people registered to your team as you want.

However, only the top 5 riders of your team will count towards your team score.

You can create or edit a team until the 14th of September 2023 at 10:00am UTC/GMT. After this the teams can’t be created anymore. Invites can be sent and accepted after the deadline.

Registration is OPEN NOW. You can find it [HERE].

No, you cannot join nor compete for multiple teams. The team you sign up for beforehand, you are automatically contributing to for each team discipline.

This means you can join a maximum of one team for the whole competition.

Max Height means we will take the single highest jump you’ve done during this discipline period. For example, if your highest jump during this discipline period is 20 meters and your team member jumped 15 meters, then you have an accumulative Max Height of 35 Meters.

These 35 Meters will be added to your registered team, if you enable the WOO Worlds button while uploading your session.

We will take the top 5 members from your team with the highest jump and combine them. This will be your team’s Max Height score.

Total Distance means an accumulative sum of all the distance you did in a session or multiple sessions. For example, if you do three sessions, and you have a session with 5 KM, 10 KM and 12 KM, your Total Distance will be 27 KM.

These 27 KM’s will be added to your registered team, if you enable the WOO Worlds button while uploading your session.

We will take the top 5 members from your team with the furthest Total Distance and combine them. This will be your team’s Total Distance score.

Total Height means an accumulative sum of all the jumps you did in a session or multiple sessions. For example, if you jump three times in a session, 5 Meters, 10 Meters and 12 Meters, your Total Height will be 27 Meters.

These 27 Meters will be added to your registered team, if you enable the WOO Worlds button while uploading your session.

We will take the top 5 members from your team with the highest Total Height and combine them. This will be your team’s Total Height score.

Yes, you can submit your session to multiple disciplines. If you use WOO Worlds option when uploading your session, it will automatically count for all the non-team disciplines.

The Team Challenges will require you to register you team beforehand.

Note that in order to take part in the correct category for highest jump (Male, Female, Junior, Senior) your age and gender in the App need to align with your real age and gender.

For the Senior category you need to be 50 years or older. This means you will participate in the Senior category if your date of birth is the 15th of September 1973 or earlier.

For the Junior category you need to be 16 years or younger. This means you will participate in the Junior category if your date of birth is the 15th of September 2006 or later.

Important: Make sure to have your correct date of birth in your profile before uploading the session. Adding or changing your date of birth will not affect your session after you uploaded the session.

Distance One Hour measures the distance that is covered in one hour, in kilometers. Only a kite or wing are allowed to propel oneself over the water.

When starting your GPS recording, there is a 5 minute preparation period before the actual Distance One Hour starts counting. This means 0:05hr to 1:05hr is the relevant time period of your session that will determine your score.

Anyone uploading a Valid WOO Worlds Session will automatically participate in the Kite Lottery. Every time you upload a Valid WOO Worlds Session, you will get one “lottery ticket,” so the more you upload, the more chances you have of winning a kite set. The sessions need to be valid and longer than 30 minutes.

We will number all the lottery tickets on the lottery days and use a random number generator to determine which lottery ticket wins the kite. There will be six winners in total, each winning a kite and bar from a WOO Worlds sponsor.

Brand Challenges are weekly contests hosted by the event sponsors to award additional prizes to the WOO Worlds field. New for 2023, each partner brand will choose a product to showcase and a giveaway structure of their choice. More details to come!
